New Product Development

We, at Framework Engineering are continuously developing new designs, new sizes , on demand features & complying to latest edition of standards to keep ourself ready with the latest demand in the market.

Our continuous involvement with valve technology has resulted in the development of reliable analytical models, design improvements and innovative solutions to persistent valve problems that have helped to many of our customers.

Our expertise spans from the conceptual stage through detail design, analysis, prototype development, testing, manufacturing; troubleshooting; and root cause analysis of problems.

Below are the steps we perform for the new product development of valves.

  • Customer Requirements :
    The first step is to understand and discuss the requirements with customers and our valve expert team to make sure that the product will be accepted by the End users. A cross reference to the competitors product is also done to list out the features based on customer request.
  • End User Requirements :
    Once the customer requirements is anaylsed. The design parameters are studied to accommodate any international standard requirements and end user / EPC specification. Example – Valve design can be done specific to comply with valve specifications of Saudi Aramco / Adnoc / KOC / KNPC / EIL etc.
  • First Concept Design :
    The next step is to develop a single design in 3D modelling along with its supporting documents such as 2D manufacturing drawings, Complete Bill of material, Engineering calculations, design input and output review documents, assembly drawing etc. The first design is given to customer for review, advice on design improvements and approval.
  • First Sample :
    A sample is produced based on the customer approval of the design and First article inspection is done for all the critical casting components, testing is done as per standard.
  • Further Testing and Validation :
    The product undergoes extensive testing and validation to ensure that it meets all industry standards and customer requirements including type test such as fugitive emission testing, fire safe testing, cryogenic testing, mechanical cyclic test and extended hydrotest of the valve.
  • Documentation & Bulk Production :
    The last step is to create documentation for marketing purpose such as technical brochure, Installation, operational & manitenance manual, Costing of the product, setting up of supply chain, training and hiring of engineers/technicians for bulk production.

  • Design for Assembly (DFA) & Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Services :
    At Framework, we offer end-to-end DFM and DFA services to our clients for both new as well as existing product designs. We design the products to perform specific functions keeping the manufacturing cost in mind and making sure the products stay competitive in the marketplace. In Design for assembly, we review the current design with an eye for elements and features of the design which can be improved to eliminate or minimize the touch labor. DFA is also essential to minimize the costs of a production assembly.
  • Reverse Engineering and Prototype building :
    It is hard to assess various parts of any equipment using traditional techniques of geometric measurement. Framework offers its advanced reverse engineering services to help you get detailed 3D models from the physical components of any equipment or product. These models can be used to improvise the design while keeping the development process and manufacturability in mind.

The engineers at Framework have an in-depth understanding of ECR/ECO/ECN processes and can manage engineering change efficiently and effectively throughout the product development cycle. We help simplify the entire engineering change management process, thus reducing cycle time and faster execution of ECR’s (Engineering Change Requests).
